About the Item

This vintage small chest of drawers was crafted in the Early Showa Period (1926–). Made of Japanese cedar (sugi), it has a warm, time-worn surface that brings quiet wabi-sabi character without feeling heavy. The vertical format keeps the footprint modest while offering five practical drawers with half-moon iron pulls (hangetsu) for tidy everyday storage. Cedar’s natural warmth and soft grain make the piece easy to live with—it slips into living rooms, studies, or bedrooms, adding useful storage while keeping the room calm and composed. Works well for stationery, tools, linens, tea ware, or small collections. Cleaned and disinfected with a non-toxic solution. The drawers move smoothly. As a vintage piece, minor scratches and marks may be present, each adding to its unique charm and the story it tells over time. It has been carefully inspected and remains in excellent vintage condition, with natural signs of age that enhance its character. The interior dimensions are as follows (in inches, with centimeters in parentheses): Drawer interiors (five, from top) Interior width: W10.2" (25.8 cm) Interior depth: D9.1" (23.1 cm) Interior heights (from top): H3.2" / 3.3" / 3.8" / 4.4" / 5.0" (8.1 / 8.3 / 9.7 / 11.2 / 12.7 cm) Weight :14.3lbs(6.5kg) Shipping Information We ship from Japan.
