About the Item

Mid 19th century Scandinavian inlaid elm chest of drawers circa 1868. We are pleased to offer this stunning chest of drawers from Sweden. Beautifully made in elm with cross-banded edges and pewter inlay to the drawer fronts and top surface.  Top surface with rounded moulding to the front edge, sits above 4 slightly graduating drawers.  Top drawer partially fitted with small drawers, where we found the maker's name and date of production underneath one of the drawers.  Shaped freize to the bottom edge and sides, raised on bracket feet. Much has been done to maintain it's original condition, very minor restorations to woodwork. Minor surface marks and very small veneer losses.  Recently re-polished in our workshop and ready for everyday use.
