About the Item

Elegant and functional campaign chest crafted from solid oak with original recessed brass handles and brass corner mounts. The chest is made in two separate sections with brass carrying handles on the sides, making it easy to transport – just as intended for officers during military campaigns. The piece features fine joinery details and sturdy brass reinforcements on all corners. It has a warm, rich patina and shows age-appropriate signs of use. England 1870–1880
