About the Item
Charming miniature chest of drawers from the Biedermeier period, crafted around 1830 with beautifully grained walnut veneer on a softwood corpus. The veneer pattern is striking, showing the typical balanced symmetry of early 19th-century craftsmanship. The model reproduces the proportions and details of a full-size chest, featuring three drawers, one of which is lockable. The piece was likely created as a cabinetmaker’s model or a decorative miniature. The surface has been carefully hand-polished, revealing a warm, rich tone. The chest is in very good restored condition, with a smooth finish and fully functional drawers. The feet appear to have been replaced at some point in its history, consistent with its age and use. A fine collectible example of Biedermeier furniture design.
