About the Item

Hand carved chinoiserie style motifs adorn this substantial red lacquered armoire. Accented by brass metal hardware, the cabinet has a regal presence. The gilt gold painted reliefs create a luxurious contrast and harmony with the rich, red lacquer. Open the hinged doors on top and bottom to reveal a large open space. The top cabinet features a pull-out metal shelf that can be maneuvered. This cabinet would be ideal as a dry bar to display your collection of Japanese single malt whiskey's. Commanding both presence and poise, this red lacquer armoire transforms traditional craftsmanship into theatrical elegance. Its bold vermilion façade is meticulously hand-carved with chinoiserie motifs, elevated by gilt-gold relief that sparkles against the lacquer's depth. Accented by solid brass hardware, the doors open to reveal a versatile two-tiered storage interior, featuring a movable metal tray in the upper compartment—ideal for bar display, electronics, or curated vignettes. A practical wire access panel discreetly allows electronics setup within, balancing function with form. 100% solid wood with not composite material. Very good overall vintage condition with only minor imperfections throughout. The back has two egress holes to allow cords to pass through. Crafted from solid wood with no composite, it remains in very good vintage condition, featuring only minor age-appropriate wear that affirms its authenticity without compromising its rich lacquer or gilding. Overall Dimension 32.25” Wide x 27.5” Deep x 71” High

Thomasville Embassy Wood Inlay Asian Modern Campaign Style Brass Accent Credenza
By Drexel, Henredon, Thomasville, Dorothy Draper
Located in Chattanooga, TN
Dorothy Draper style campaign credenza made by esteemed US furniture maker Thomasville circa 1970s. Old growth flaxen flared grain fruitwood (most likely pecan) from top to bottom are the hallmarks of the Embassy line. Black lacquer accents and brass pull hardware tie together British traditional and Eastern design. The door facades exhibit a diamond pattern wood inlay with contrasting color tones, presented tastefully to demonstrate a delicate ornate sensibility. Two large Interior cabinet spaces offer heaps of open storage with a single stationary shelf in each bay. No composite or MDF anywhere on this campaign credenza. Thomasville used a combination of solid hardwood interiors, solid fruitwood and veneers. We purchased this from the original owners out of time-capsule estate and nearly everything in the home was from the Thomasville Embassy...
