About the Item
A pair of 19th century French Kingwood and marble top commodes of exceptional quality, having the original highly decorative shaped marble tops with a moulded edge, two oak lined drawers below and a two tambour door opening to reveal a large compartment space, the door fronts having decorative feathered inlay, the sides of the commodes having parquetry inlay, lovely quality ormolu mounts on each corner terminating on elegant shaped ormolu feet, shaped apron with central ormolu mount. Both commodes in excellent condition and having a lovely warm rich colour. Circa 1860.
