About the Item

Pair of 19th century painted Swedish commodes circa 1880. Fine quality pair of Scandinavian chest of drawers in the Gustavian taste, which could work well as a pair of large bedside tables. Serpentine shaped fronts which starts with the slightly over hanging top surface.   Each fitted with 3 drawers of equal proportion, ornate ring handles, working locks and key.  Shaped freize to front and sides, raised on cabriole legs.  Oak lined drawers. Later applied paint, which has since taken on a weathered/faded appearance.  Expected minor surface marks in line with age and use.
