About the Item

Pair of early 19th century mahogany Biedermeier secretaire commodes circa 1830. Rare pair of biedermeier period swedish chest of drawers.  4 drawers, each top drawer with a fully fitted interior of satinwood and mahogany drawers and pigeon holes.  Drawer front pulls down to form a small writing surface.    Drawer front decorated with brass stringing in a recessed cartouche. Lower drawers decorated with a brass strung applied cornucopia, each drawer with veneer in matched flame mahogany, flanked either side by a turned column with gilt collars. Standing on block feet. Expected surface marks and restorations to veneer.
