About the Item
A lovely and high quality pair of French 19th century Louis XV st. Kingwood, Tulipwood, Ormolu and Bréche d'Alep marble chests/end tables. Each Bombée chest is raised by short cabriole legs with fine Ormolu sabots that lead up to elegant richly chased pierced Ormolu foliate corner mounts. The unique Bombée shape body displays decorative floral marquetry throughout. At the front are three richly chased floral Ormolu pulls in a rich satin and burnished finish. The pulls are situated with one at the top drawer and two on the door below, which opens to reveal a square open interior. Above is the original scalloped shaped Bréche d'Alep marble top.
