About the Item
A charming and most elegant pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. patinated wood and faux painted marble commodes. Each three drawer chest is raised by square tapered fluted legs with charming dentil and fluted column like designs leading up each side. The frieze is centered by a lovely carved rosette and fluted design. The three drawers each display fine fluted designs and circular mottled bronze keyhole escutcheons with beautiful bronze pulls and remarkable central urns set on a recessed panel. Each side also displays an elegant recessed panel and additional fine fluted designs. Above the stepped aprons are the original wonderfully executed faux painted marble tops. All original paint and patina throughout.
