About the Item
These handsome tool chests were probably found in a jewelry shop (or atelier) or even in an optician's shop. They contained small precision tools and/or parts. The frame is made from tubular steel and the drawers are made from solid oak with small brass knobs. The color of the wood is light brown and the varnish is original. The drawers are numbered, suggesting use in a manufacturing environment where the user might change often. The top is padded with a leather-grained vinyl. The swiveling wheels are original. This pair could easily find use as bedside chests or lamp stands in a living room.
