About the Item
A stunning and high quality pair of Italian 18th century Louis XVI period Satinwood, Mahogany, Ormolu, and Rosa Alicante marble commodes. Each two drawer chest is raised by square tapered legs below the straight apron. At the center are two drawers showcasing two circular Ormolu pulls decorated by male profiles. Each pull on either side of each drawer is within a rectangular panel with linear and crossing designs. At the center of each drawer is a keyhole within a square panel decorated by linear designs similar to the panels on either side. The square panels on both sides of each chest are decorated in a similar manner with their linear patterns. Flanking the two drawers as well as each side panel are column like designs extending up from each leg. Above are the wonderful displaying a rectangular Rosa Alicante marble.
