About the Item
A stunning and extremely decorative pair of Italian early 19th century Louis XV st. Kingwood, ormolu and Brèche de Sicile marble commodes. Each four drawer chest is raised by elegant lightly curved legs with richly chased pierced fitted foliate ormolu sabots below the beautiful scalloped frieze. At the center are two larger and two smaller drawers each following the exceptional and most elegant bombee movement and display stunning lattice designed inlaid parquetry patterns framed within a lovely mottled border and centered by a foliate ormolu keyhole escutcheon. The curvaceous sides also display the same beautiful inlaid designs with the original impressive thick Brèche de Sicile marble tops above with a superb curved mottled border.
