About the Item
A most elegant and high quality pair of Italian 18th century Louis XVI Period Amaranth wood, Ebony, Ormolu and white Carrara marble chests. Each handsome two-drawer chests is raised by square tapered Amaranth wood legs with Ormolu sabots leading to a straight apron below the two full-width drawers. Each drawer features Ebony filet inlays and Ormolu ring pulls in the shape of a laurel wreath, and keyhole escutcheons decorated with finely chased urns bordered by rope twists. The chests are topped with white Carrara marble, detailed with a hand carved groove along the edge.
