About the Item
A graceful and refined pair of Louis XV–style painted chests, finished in a soft, patinated cream with gilt accents and topped with stunning antiqued mirrors that have developed a richly marbled foxing pattern. The mirrored surfaces display a remarkable stone-like craquelure effect, with pale clouded patches framed by delicate dark veining—giving the tops the character of early mercury glass and adding an elegant depth to the pieces.
Each chest features a classic serpentine front, raised molded drawer panels, and carved Rococo flourishes at the apron and cabriole legs. The combination of the creamy painted finish and the intricate, aged mirrors creates a look that is both French Provincial and effortlessly sophisticated.
