About the Item
A pair of chests of drawers in the Gustavian style, executed in blue-painted pine.
Architectural in design, each chest fitted with three fluted drawers with original brass mounts, surmounted by a top with a carved, fluted edge.
The sides are canted and fluted, decorated at the upper section with a carved lozenge motif.
The chests rest on elegantly tapered, fluted legs.
Sweden, 1840–60.
