About the Item
This delightful little chest is plain, simple and versatile as well as being very attractive. The top is thin and the boards are variegated in color with a nice thumbnail groove around the edge. The wood has a strong grain pattern and is of a particularly heavy and hard species. The three hand-cut dovetailed drawers are of equal depth and are flanked on the front corners of the case by applied reeded molding capped with hardwood corbels bearing a carved floral motif. This is a great piece for a child’s bedroom or guest room, where it could serve as a TV stand or where its shallow profile could make a useful bedside table.
