About the Item
Elegant South German chest of drawers from around 1835, crafted from solid cherrywood with refined walnut band inlays on the top and sides. The three drawer fronts are framed with walnut veneer, creating a beautiful contrast and emphasizing the clear geometry of the late Biedermeier style. The top plate is softly curved and finely profiled, giving the piece a distinctive, handcrafted appearance. Each drawer is fitted with a small brass key and a charming heart-shaped escutcheon, reflecting the warm character of regional craftsmanship. The surface has been hand-polished, highlighting the natural grain and golden tone of the cherrywood. The locks were likely replaced at a later stage, otherwise the chest remains in very good restored condition. A bright and decorative piece that brings authenticity and warmth to both classic and contemporary interiors.
