About the Item
Swedish 19th century birch chest of drawers circa 1880.
Simple but elegant Scandinavian chest of drawers, veneered in quarter sawn birch to allow the striking grain to show through.
Rectangular top with front canted corners and moulded edge. Fitted with 4 drawers of equal proportions, each fitted with a carved keyhole. As typical with Scandinavian drawers open on the key and were not fitted with handles. Standing on shaped block front feet and standard block feet to the rear.
Evidence to dead inactive treated worm to front feet, back feet are a later replacement. Recently fully restored in our workshop and ready for everyday use.
