A rare and finely detailed Gustavian chest of drawers, crafted in Sweden around 1800 and finished in a soft, patinated Gustavian grey. This elegant piece stands on classic straight tapered legs and features three full-length drawers with brass escutcheons and ring pulls. The top drawer opens to reveal a beautifully preserved interior with seven smaller compartments, ideal for organizing documents, jewelry, or other treasures. The inner structure, made of solid pine, includes scalloped dividers and finely crafted dovetail joinery, showcasing exceptional craftsmanship. The overall tone of the painted finish is muted and subtly distressed, offering a serene and timeworn character. Even the back panel is made from solid wood, attesting to the integrity of its construction.
