Rare and spectacular, late 19th century chest of drawers. This beautiful Empire style commode has obviously been used, but the condition is good to excellent. It has a beautifu warm color, but we have never seen this exotic wood ( burl/burr )with the leopard like dots. This unique chest is practical in size, marvelous in shape and the beautiful, gilt bronze Empire style elements also are wonderful to look at. The practical drawers with the stylish and top-class bronze handles, the wonderfully shaped legs with the bronze feet, the original marble top with its natural lines/veins, they all make this antique commode extra special.
