About the Item
A striking sideboard designed by Edward Axel Roffman in the 1970s, showcasing the bold materials and clean geometry that defined his work. The piece is crafted in richly figured burlwood, its warm organic patterning dramatically offset by polished chrome accents that frame the structure and emphasize its architectural lines. The combination of natural veneer and reflective metal creates a sophisticated contrast, reflecting the modernist glamour of American design during this period.
Behind the sleek façade, the sideboard offers generous storage, making it both functional and visually commanding. The streamlined silhouette and minimal ornamentation highlight Roffman’s focus on materiality and proportion, positioning the piece as a distinctive statement in a modern interior. Collectors and enthusiasts of post-modern design will recognize this as an exemplary work from a designer celebrated for his bold yet refined aesthetic.
We also have a matching desk by Edward Axel Roffman available in a separate listing.
