About the Item
Importante mobile da parete di manifattura canturina (Italia, ca. 1955), costituito da una panca con cassetti frontali e tre corpi pensili con ante in noce a disegno geometrico. Il vano destro ospita un bar con interno specchiato, mensole in cristallo e impianto di illuminazione funzionante (ripristinato). Il progetto, per proporzioni, gambe affusolate e raffinatezza delle impiallacciature, è attribuito all’ambito di Paolo Buffa / Vittorio Dassi per la scuola di La Permanente Mobili Cantù. Il mobile è stato restaurato di recente: finitura controllata, meccaniche revisionate, impianto luce del bar rimesso a norma d’uso. Oggetto di grande qualità esecutiva e forte presenza scenica, ideale come mobile giorno/bar per interni mid-century e contemporanei.
La Permanente Mobili Cantù è uno storico consorzio di maestranze e aziende del legno-arredo nato a Cantù alla fine dell’Ottocento (radici nel 1893) per promuovere e commercializzare la qualità artigianale locale. Negli anni ’50 divenne un polo di riferimento del mid-century italiano, collaborando con designer e architetti come Paolo Buffa, Vittorio Dassi, Ico Parisi e altri, e sostenendo iniziative culturali come la Selettiva del Mobile (dal 1955), che contribuì a proiettare il “mobile di Cantù” sulla scena internazionale.
