About the Item

An Italian painted wood console cabinet, with unique reverse breakfront design, from the 19th century. This antique buffet from Italy features a reverse breakfront design, with a four raised-panel door front, designed with each of the far end doors stepping out further in a deeper cabinet, than the pair of raised-panel doors within the center. The center doors open to reveal a shelf for storage within. The outer doors open to reveal hidden drawers; three stacked and graduated drawers on each side (for a total of six drawers). The cabinet is raised upon a thickly stacked mold trim along the base, with central areas at each side and front being open to give space between the bottom of the cabinet and flooring. The painted finish is not original, but it is well done. Note that there have been prior repairs to the feet. This 19th century Italian credenza will make a handsome storage and display piece within any room, and wonderful pop of color!
