About the Item

Large sideboard in American walnut wood with parchment inlays and a black glass top, from the Art Deco period, made in Italy. A grand dining room piece designed for spacious, early 20th-century interiors. Embodying the decorative essence of Italian Art Deco, this sideboard draws inspiration from architectural forms, both in its horizontal development and in its interplay of concave and convex volumes that harmonize with the era's architecture. This balance in proportions, achieved through meticulous research, makes the design of this oversized sideboard both pleasant and engaging. It is a unique piece, born from a specific commission. The interior, divided into shelves, is accessible through four doors. The outer doors stand out for their sophisticated opening mechanism, incorporating the rounded corners of the piece in a pantograph-like movement. The central doors, covered in parchment, feature large brass-cast handles, almost sculptural in their pure Rationalist style, serving as the aesthetic focal point of the entire sideboard. Completing the credenza are refined aesthetic elements such as the original black glass top from the period and the graceful, wave-like base, resembling a comma or a curl extending outward, which imparts lightness and dynamism to the piece. Intended for large, representative spaces, this sideboard has undergone professional restoration, respecting the materials and construction techniques of its time. Dimensions: 300x51x95 cm
