About the Item

Four-door credenza designed by Pier Luigi Colli. The piece features carved column supports with decorative detailing, brass hardware, and patterned wood veneer doors. Raised on tapered legs, the credenza offers interior shelving for storage. A combination of craftsmanship and sculptural detailing highlights Colli’s design approach during the mid-20th century in Italy. Pier Luigi Colli (1895–1968) was an Italian designer and decorator based in Turin. He trained in Paris before returning to Italy, where he directed the family business Colli Casa, active from the 1920s through the 1960s. Colli is known for combining traditional craftsmanship with modernist influences, producing furniture, lighting, and decorative objects. His work often incorporated hand-carved wood, wrought iron, and richly detailed veneers, sometimes accented with gilding or glass. Colli’s pieces were frequently commissioned for private residences and luxury interiors in Italy and abroad, reflecting a refined and decorative approach to mid-20th-century Italian design.
