About the Item

Designed by Tom Robertson for A.H. McIntosh of Scotland in the early 1960s, this exceptional teak sideboard exemplifies the elegance and functionality of Mid Century Modern design. The cabinet showcases McIntosh’s signature sculpted scalloped handles, minimalist lines, and richly figured, book-matched teak grain—hallmarks of the company’s renowned craftsmanship. The well-considered layout includes three dovetailed drawers to the left (the top lined in black velvet and divided for cutlery), a central double-door cabinet with fixed shelving, and a right-hand drop-down drinks cabinet with a sliding pull-out tray. The finished back allows the piece to be displayed freestanding, making it as versatile as it is striking. Fully refinished and in excellent vintage condition, this rare Robertson design is both functional and decorative—equally suited as a dining room buffet, bar cabinet, media console, or living room credenza. A timeless statement piece that embodies the best of British mid century design.
