Midcentury Credenza Dresser with Mirror and Hexagon Paneled Design

About the Item

Handsome midcentury credenza or dresser with a large mirror. It is adorned with a hexagon paneled design and brass hardware. It is in wonderful vintage condition. This cabinet has been attributed to Thomasville Omega. The top has been refinished due do a spot with chemical (most likely fingernail polish remover) damage. Although the top looks beautiful it does still have a small indentation from damage. The body wears its original finish. It does have small signs of appropriate wear as you would expect for its age but nothing outstanding. Please see photos. Circa 1960s. We searched high and low both physically on this piece and on the internet to locate a maker or designer of this fabulous chest. We finally found it as attributed to Omega by Thomasville. We did not find the designer but even though, we are not deterred from deeming this credenza as a lovely piece of mid-Century Furniture which can border a bit on Campaign or Hollywood Regency style. It has lots of style and presence and is made very well. Comprised of what we feel is a light walnut stained ash. It has a pair of doors in the center which are flanked by two banks of three drawers each. The doors which are covered in a faux planked veneer, are adorned with elongated hexagon panels and are operated with brass key-style pulls and brass escutcheons. The drawers have no hardware; but are adorned with recesses at the top and bottom of each drawer front which act as the drawer pulls and, when stacked, form a hexagon shape where the drawers meet. This credenza does come with its large wonderful mirror that can be attached to the cabinet or hung on the wall and used alone separately from the cabinet. Plus, it can hang vertical or horizontal. How is that for versatile? This piece would make a gorgeous credenza in an entry or a dining room, as dresser in a bedroom, or wherever you may need beautiful and useful storage. Just make it yours!
