About the Item

Finished on all side and beautiful from every angle. Handsomely framed in polished stainless steel, the architecturally modern presence of the metal is perfectly contrasted by the warm olive burl. The eye-popping intersection of these two elements is where this 1970's credenza finds its elegance. The burl wood with it's explosive grain does most of the heavy lifting when it comes to the character of this piece. Finished fully, front to back in olive burl wood, the design location and purpose have endless possibilities. Hefty burl doors bereft of superfluous hardware, push-click open to reveal heaps of open cabinet space with adjustable shelving. Please examine our restoration photos closely to appreciate the condition of this captivating credenza by Leon Rosen for Pace Collection. We're certain you won't find a finer example anywhere. All burl wood panels have been professionally, delicately and lovingly refinished by our in-house restoration team. The steel has been polished and buffed, however some age-appropriate imperfections (scuffs / scratches) remain. Detailed top to bottom, inside and out. Please reach out with any questions or concerns. The Pace Collection was a high-end contemporary furniture company in business from 1960 to 2001. The company was founded by Irving and Leon Rosen in New York City. The showroom was located in Manhattan on East 62nd Street to offer its fine furniture and services to the contract interior design trade. The Pace Collection advertised in numerous architectural and interior design periodicals.[1] The Pace Collection furniture designs were all distinctly different from those offered by Knoll (company), Herman Miller, Steelcase and other contract furniture companies. Restored with great care, this 1970s Pace Collection credenza spans about 59.9 inches (152 cm) wide, 20 inches (51 cm) deep, and 33 inches (84 cm) high—ample presence without overpowering a room. The body is wrapped front to back in olive burl wood veneer, each panel showing dramatic, swirling grain that commands attention. The chrome trim and steel framing have been polished and buffed, contrasting the warmth of the wood with metallic brilliance. Door fronts are bold and hefty, entirely devoid of visible hardware; instead they use a push-click mechanism that preserves the clean lines and modern simplicity of the design. Interior storage is generous and flexible—adjustable shelving behind the doors— making it useful for a variety of purposes, from a media console or buffet to a statement storage piece in a living or dining room. The finish is fully surfaced, including back and sides, so it looks commanding from every angle. This credenza bridges warm organic material with crisp modernist structure. It pairs beautifully with plush upholstery, glass accessories, mirrored or metallic accents, and clean-lined surroundings. For collectors of Pace, Leon Rosen designs, and high-end mid-century post-modern furniture, this piece offers rare integrity, visual drama, and lasting value. Condition: VERY GOOD restored condition. All burl wood panels have been professionally refinished by our in-house restoration team. Chrome has been polished and buffed, however some age-appropriate imperfections (scuffs / scratches) remain

Thomasville Embassy Wood Inlay Asian Modern Campaign Style Brass Accent Credenza
By Drexel, Henredon, Dorothy Draper, Thomasville
Located in Chattanooga, TN
Dorothy Draper style campaign credenza made by esteemed US furniture maker Thomasville circa 1970s. Old growth flaxen flared grain fruitwood (most likely pecan) from top to bottom are the hallmarks of the Embassy line. Black lacquer accents and brass pull hardware tie together British traditional and Eastern design. The door facades exhibit a diamond pattern wood inlay with contrasting color tones, presented tastefully to demonstrate a delicate ornate sensibility. Two large Interior cabinet spaces offer heaps of open storage with a single stationary shelf in each bay. No composite or MDF anywhere on this campaign credenza. Thomasville used a combination of solid hardwood interiors, solid fruitwood and veneers. We purchased this from the original owners out of time-capsule estate and nearly everything in the home was from the Thomasville Embassy...
