Title: Victorian Ebonised and Marquetry Credenza
Item Code: S27-703
Description:
A fine Victorian ebonised credenza, richly decorated with elaborate marquetry inlay and gilt metal mounts. The shaped top sits above a frieze inlaid with scrolling floral sprays, continuing across the full width of the piece. The central cupboard door is framed by a moulded border and centred with an oval marquetry panel depicting a detailed floral bouquet, flanked by glazed display cabinets with bowed glass doors, allowing the interior shelves to be viewed. The whole is enriched with extensive gilt bronze mounts, including classical female masks, scrolling foliage, and decorative corner and apron mounts, all set against the deep ebonised ground. Raised on a shaped plinth base with further applied ornament, this is a highly decorative and well-proportioned credenza, ideal for a dining room, drawing room or hallway setting.
