About the Item

An exceptional 18th-century French Renaissance cabinet, sourced from the French Alps. Masterfully hand-crafted from solid oak, this two-piece ensemble showcases exquisite and elaborate carvings throughout, emblematic of the traditional French Renaissance aesthetic. The upper section features two large drawers with deep dovetail joints and original metal pulls, each drawer front adorned with finely carved animal motifs. Below, three beautifully carved doors display intricate floral compositions with rosettes and acanthus leaves, opening to reveal generous interior storage. The lower buffet offers two carved doors with divided storage space, continuing the detailed craftsmanship and ornamental design. The entire piece has been structurally revised for stability, while the wood retains a naturally aged, dark ebonized patina that highlights striking tiger oak grain patterns beneath. Solid and stable with excellent joinery, this cabinet exemplifies the refined artistry and enduring elegance of 18th-century French furniture. - Origin: France, sourced in the French Alps - Dimensions: W 55" x D 29.63" x H 61" - Condition: The cabinet has been structurally revised and is in good condition, showing minor wear consistent with its age and use.
