About the Item

This is a rare totally original Early 19th century painted marriage cupboard from Northern Italy. The painted decoration is beautiful with faux wood grain and marble effects. The doors are emblazoned with IHS (Symbol of Christ) and the family crest of the married family below. At the top below the cornice the date 1811 is painted. Inside the cupboard there is one side for hanging space and one side that is shelved. But it doesn't stop there, there is a lovely quality pull out shelf and at the very top a series of small and hidden drawers. Overall condition is very good and the size is neat. Key is original and still works. Height 190cm Width 138cm Depth 63cm
