About the Item

Mid 19th century Swedish hand painted cupboard circa 1860. Scandinavian cupboard made from pitch pine due to the weight on the piece. Comprising of 2 sections, elegant and simple design, shaped cornice with a door cupboard below, decorated with a moulded edge. Doors open to an interior of 4 fixed shelves and painted interior. Base fitted with a single drawer, without a handle which is typical for Swedish furniture of this period. Shaped freize and bracket feet to finish. Working lock and key. Later painted which has since taken on a desirable faded appearance. Minor surface marks to woodwork. Very heavy item and ready for everyday use. Height: 202.5cm Width: 127.6cm Depth: 43.2cm
