Antique Italian cabinet.
This painted cabinet, dated 1835, is thought to have been made in the Trentino-Alto Adige region of the northern Italian Alps.
Crafted from sturdy pine, the doors and drawer fronts are decorated with gorgeous polychrome paintings of flowers and fruit. Such decorative furniture was often made to order for weddings or dowries, and strongly reflects the lifestyles and beliefs of the rural culture of the time.
The beautiful, vibrant red color and elegant paintwork give this piece of Italian folk art furniture an elegant impression.
