This finely carved two-door cabinet originates from the French Basque Country, dating to around 1800. Crafted in solid dark wood, it features deeply sculpted panels with foliate motifs typical of regional craftsmanship from the period. The cupboard retains its original iron latch and hinges, with a rich patina that reveals its age and authenticity. Inside, a single shelf provides practical storage within the rustic, hand-finished interior. A beautiful example of early Basque vernacular furniture combining utility and artisanal ornamentation.
