Royal House Antiques Royal House Antiques is delighted to offer for sale this absolutely stunning, very large, Exhibition / Museum quality, hand carved 16th Century southern Italian Cassone desk Please note the delivery fee listed is just a guide, it covers within the M25 only for the UK and local Europe only for international, if you would like an accurate quote please send me your postcode and I’ll provide you with the exact price A truly stunning and well made piece, this would have been made for an exhibition to show off the cabinet makers skill, originally it was most likely a massive Cassone chest that was later adapted to a pedestal desk, the work appears to have been completed in the early Victorian era This really is a piece of art furniture in every sense, it looks important and expensive from every angle, it is a one of a kind example that will most likely never be replicated The condition is excellent, we have deep cleaned hand condition waxed and hand polished it from top to bottom, there will be age and use related patina marks here and there but nothing to note, it honestly looks amazing Dimensions Height:- 82cm Width:- 166cm Depth:- 80cm Knee height:- 63cm, width 67cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, if you would like any additional or specific measurements please ask Any questions please feel free to ask before you bid Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
