About the Item

An unusual early C19th ash partners desk, with good quality green and gilt tooled leather top with moulded edge and having a useful feature of being able to extend its surface with the lift up flap to the reverse supported with two hinged lopers. The front with a single long frieze drawer simulating three drawers with brass handles, above pedestals of a further three drawers to each side and a central kneehole with door and compartment, and a secret pop out drawer to the plinth below. The plinth base having concealed castors. Circa 1830. In very good clean condition with a rare use of timber and noteworthy colour. H: 77.5 cm (30 1/2") W: 122 cm (49") D: 89.5 cm (35 1/4") 146cm deep when extended.
