An elegant late 19th-century French writing desk in the Louis XVI style, sourced from Provence. Expertly handcrafted from satinwood, it features a rectangular top lined with dark green vinyl, showcasing a naturally aged, distressed patina. The surface is framed with delicate inlay trim, adding to its refined charm. The desk has been structurally revised and gently refinished to reveal a rich, warm brown tone that accentuates the wood’s age and character. It offers generous storage with three large dovetailed drawers, complete with original brass fittings and ornate ormolu, and includes two pull-out keys. The apron clearance measures 24.25 inches. The piece is raised on finely carved tapered legs terminating in brass sabots. - Origin: Provence, France - Dimensions: W 51" x D 27.5" x H 29.75" - seat height 24.25" - Condition: The table has been structurally revised and gently refinished, preserving its naturally aged rustic patina.
