A refined late 19th century French Louis XVI style walnut writing table, sourced in Provence. The rectangular top with demi-lune ends is finished with a carved leaf-and-dart border, resting on a molded frieze with rosettes at each corner. Fluted and tapering legs support the structure, joined by a shaped X-stretcher centered with a turned finial. While designed as a writing table or small bureau plat, its versatile scale makes it equally suitable as a library desk, console table, center table, or even an occasional table in a salon or entryway. The craftsmanship highlights the fine graining and warm tone of walnut, accented with hand-carved details that elevate its understated elegance.
