About the Item

This attractive mahogany Edwardian Davenport / writing desk, circa 1900s has been constructed from quality solid mahogany having a raised back above a fall front moulded edge writing slope with a raised and fielded panelled cupboard door standing on bracket feet. The Davenport's top section has a brass hinged mahogany lift up lid to reveal an original lead lined storage compartment along with the writing slope that also opens to a useful extra storage area. The base of the antique Davenport has a raised and fielded panelled door with brass knob handle behind which has a single baize lined shelve and stands on its original shaped bracket feet. This antique writing desk is in very good original condition with a warm mahogany colour that has been carefully restored so as to be ready for use within the home. Dimensions: Width 24 inches - 61cm Height 38 1/4 inches - 97cm Depth 22 3/4 inches - 58cm.
