About the Item

A nice early 19th century Cherry slant front desk probably Pennsylvania or Virginia. Nicely dovetailed case resting on tall bracket feet. The interior surface is fitted with several small drawers and a locking lid with three smaller drawers behind it. The old finish has a great color and patina and has been polished and waxed.

Condition:

Repaired: Lid hinges have been moved and replaced at some point in its life. The bottom board on the back is replaced. Hardware is older but not original to the desk. Old repairs to the drawers. Replacements made: One piece of the back replaced. Older hardware is a later replacement. Wear consistent with age and use.
