Mid-20th Century Faux Bamboo Black Lacquered Writing Desk in the style of James Mont, circa 1950's. The desk features a black faux bamboo frame. Piece offers three drawers with brass pulls and classic Mont-inspired detailing. The faux bamboo motif a signature of the era, adds sculptural texture and visual rhythm. James Mont (1904-1978), known for his luxurious and theatrical designs, often merged Asian-inspired motifs with modern American glamour, an influence clearly reflected in this piece.
