Handsome mid-20th century French writing desk, made in French Empire style and sourced from Provence, France. Expertly handcrafted from rich mahogany, the desk features a rectangular top covered in red leather with a gold-leaf trim along the edges. The wood displays a naturally aged patina, highlighting its warm reddish-brown color and beautiful grain patterns. The front of the desk is fitted with four storage drawers, each meticulously constructed with dovetail joints. The piece includes three keys for the drawers. The desk is raised on carved legs, adorned with brass moldings, and connected by elegantly curved stretchers. Solid and stable, with exceptional craftsmanship and joinery, it embodies the classic elegance of the French Empire period.
