About the Item
A 1950s French architect’s desk, crafted in solid oak with a warm tone and expressive grain. The rectangular top floats above two pedestal bases on stepped plinths, joined by a single brass stretcher. On one side, a bank of four drawers—complete with round brass pulls and a lockable top drawer—offers practical storage. The opposing side, paneled and monolithic, acts as a sculptural counterweight.
An inset glass panel punctuates the surface—ideal for drafting, reviewing plans, or showcasing materials. A purposeful addition to a studio, study, or collector’s library.
Condition: Great vintage condition, with light patination to the brass stretcher. Minimal wear to the oak surface, with subtle age-related marks along the edges. The glass top is removable. All drawers open smoothly; the top drawer retains two original keys.
