Elegant Louis XV Style Flat Desk – Black Lacquered with Gilded Bronze Decoration
This exceptional Louis XV-style Flat Desk is a refined example of classic craftsmanship and French elegance. The combination of a deep black lacquered finish and richly detailed gilded bronze appliques gives the desk a prestigious appearance. The curved base and the ornate ornaments reflect the influence of the 18th century rococo style, characterized by flowing lines and luxurious decoration.
The worktop is covered in black leather and has a fine gold-engraved frame. The gilded border around the top reinforces the classic aesthetic.
The front is equipped with three spacious drawers, each with decorative, gilded bronze handles and key plates. The elegantly shaped, slightly curved legs are also equipped with refined bronze accents, which contributes to the harmonious appearance of the whole.
Made in French or Belgian workshops, possibly in the style of famous cabinetmakers such as François Linke or Zwiener, but not originally from them.

This piece is a high-quality Italian reproduction, crafted circa 1990-2010 in the Louis XV / Louis XVI Mazarin style. It is not an original 18th-century antique, but rather a hand-finished homage to the French master cabinetmakers of the 1700s.
The desk features elegant floral marquetry using walnut, maple, and other light hardwoods, with a finely proportioned Mazarin structure: multiple drawers on both sides, a central drawer above a door compartment, and cabriole legs connected by a decorative stretcher. The ormolu (gilt bronze) mounts are finely cast and richly detailed.
This reproduction combines the timeless elegance of palace-style French furniture with modern durability and functionality. It offers the appearance and craftsmanship of antique furniture, without the fragility or price tag associated with true antiques.
