About the Item

A good example of a Chippendale slant front desk with bookmatched figured mahogany veneers, a slant front which opens to a compartmentalized interior with fitted drawers and cubbies, over four long drawers, each with replaced batwing brasses, all supported by bracket feet. Good overall condition, with some swelling of the slant front lid, restorations, some veneer shrinkage and lifting in areas, old hinge repairs, and other surface scratches, ink stains, imperfections and wear commensurate with age and use. One interior drawer pull is missing. This was a well-loved and well-used desk! Dimensions: 39.75 in H x 37.5 in W x 19.75 in D. Ref: 8
