About the Item

Mid 19th century burr campaign lap desk circa 1860. Good quality burr writing box. Beautifully brass bound outside and inside edging. Stunning burr wood exterior. Original dark blue velvet writing surface which splits both ways to reveal storage. Pen tray and compartments above the writing surface. Single full width drawer to the side which opens with a secret pin lock. Original locks and hinges. Very slight age split to top and expected surface marks, please see pictures.
