This commanding V-shaped executive desk, inspired by the innovative designs of Harvey Probber, captures the sleek sophistication of Mid-Century Modern style from the 1960s. Crafted in the USA from rich American black walnut, the desk showcases the wood’s warm, honeyed tones and striking grain, with clean lines and angled legs that elevate its minimalist form. The expansive black leather top adds a luxurious contrast, offering a tactile surface that enhances both functionality and aesthetic appeal. Dual banks of drawers on either side, each fitted with understated black pulls, provide ample storage while maintaining the desk’s streamlined silhouette. Drawing from Probber’s legacy of blending modernist principles with luxurious materials, this piece reflects his influence as a pioneer of mid-century design, known for introducing modular concepts and exotic woods to American interiors. Perfect for a home office or a collector’s space, this desk combines timeless design with practical elegance. ---Dimensions--- Width: 72 in / 182.88 cm Depth: 35 in / 88.9 cm Height: 29 in / 73.66 cm This extraordinary executive desk has recently undergone a comprehensive and transformative restoration process and the results speak for themselves! The black walnut composition shows only one gouge on the bottom left-side portion and can be seen clearly in the detail photos provided. With that said there are no other stains, deep scratches or other wear save for a few nicks and minor scratches (which can be seen in the detail photos provided). All five drawers and two pull-out writing surfaces open and close with ease. The handles have been professionally painted in automotive-grade polyurethane. The genuine leather hide desk top is in new, never-used condition and shows only the wear of a once living animal (scars and ranch brands etc). This desk is highly functional, structurally sound and ready for a literal lifetime more of use thanks to it's recent restoration.
