About the Item

18th century Welsh dresser made from oak. The top has a lovely crown molding over a scalloped frieze, which is highly carved with lovely decoration. The back of the dresser has open shelving, with rails along the back, and hand carved shelf galleries in the front for added design interest. On the top portions, on the left and right, there are scalloped small shelves in the center of the sections for added decorative display space. Below these are closed shelving with hand carved decorated doors, over small carved drawers. The serving height is 33.13 inches. The base of the cabinet has paneled sides and three hand carved decorated drawers, surrounded by gorgeous intricate carving and a scalloped apron. The piece is supported on hand turned legs in the front and simple legs in the back for easy placement against a wall, and they are joined by a lower shelf. This is a wonderful piece in excellent antique condition. It will be the focal point of any room in which it is placed.
