About the Item

Ten drawer blonde wood Aesthetic Movement tallboy dresser or lingerie chest. This dresser is a functional equivalent of a semanier, even if it doesn't strictly adhere to having precisely seven equally sized drawers for clothing for each day of the week. The piece features a stick and ball gallery top flanked by a carved sunburst decoration above four beveled lozenge shaped panels, laddered sides, fluted corner supports, splayed sabre legs and, most noticeably, the Asian inspired angular bail pull brass hardware with floral accents. Circa 1870-1880. Good overall condition with old patina and wear consistent with age and use. Tarnish to the brasses and escutcheon. Minor chips and bruises to the bottom portion of the legs. Minor splits and cracks due to drying and age of the drawer interiors. Minor cosmetic wear to the top. Structurally sound and sturdy construction. The dresser measures approximately 22" deep x 25.75" wide x 56.5" high.
